CHENNAI: Tamil film LEO starring Vijay has achieved remarkable success at the box office, becoming the highest-grossing Tamil film ever. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, has broken several records and garnered immense popularity among audiences worldwide.

Leo has set a new record by earning a staggering Rs 461 crore rupees (approximately 62 million USD) globally within just seven days of its release The film's success can be attributed to its captivating storyline, Vijay's powerful performance, and the strong direction by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Sharing the latest numbers of the film, trade analyst, Ramesh Bala tweeted on X, “#LEO official collection update from Production house @7screenstudio For 1st week.” Leo stars Vijay and marks his reunion with Lokesh after their 2021 film Master.

The film's box office performance has been exceptional not only in India but also in international markets. In the United Kingdom, Leo has grossed over 12 crore rupees (approximately 1.4 million USD), making it the highest-grossing Tamil film in the region. The film has also achieved significant success in North America, with a wide release in over 999 locations.

Furthermore, Leo has broken the record for the highest-grossing Tamil film on its opening day, surpassing the previous record held by Shah Rukh Khan's film Jawan. It has also become the seventh-highest-grossing Tamil film of all time, further solidifying its position as a blockbuster.
