RSS affiliated magazine accuses Infosys of aligning with 'anti-national' forces

NEW DELHI: In a cover story published in Panchjanya, a journal that is widely associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) the Hindi weekly has taken on information technology (IT) major Infosys over glitches in the Goods and Services Tax (GST) and the Income Tax (IT) portals being developed by it.

With Infosys' founder Narayana Murthy's picture on the cover page, the headline is titled Infosys 'Saakh Aur Aghaat' (Reputation and Damage) further saying that the company IT project has created so many glitches that besides causing hardships it has severely dented the entire system. 

The IT portal which went online on 7 June 2021 has been facing several glitches with users complaining that they are facing innumerable problems on using it. Seeing that problems continued the CEO of Infosys, Salil Parekh was summoned by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and was given an ultimatum till September 15 to fix the glitches.

Inside, the four-page cover story in Panchjanya has said that the IT portal problems were not the first time that Infosys has mishandled a government project and even the GST portal problems were done by the company had several issues, severely impacting users.

The story alleges that if such major problems arise in projects handled by such big companies like Infosys, then it is natural to raise suspicion and raises the question if the promoters of Infosys are deliberately trying to do these things to destabilize the Indian economy.

In subsequent paragraphs, the article also says about Infosys' funding to anti-national forces and alleges that the company has been accused of assisting Naxalites, left parties and break Indian gangs. 

The article lists some serious accusations against Infosys like funding for Alt News which spreads fake news, funding The Wire and Scroll which are propaganda websites, awards being given to urban Naxals, funding American universities projects which are anti-India and an influence of Marxist in the company's human resources department.

Meanwhile, the RSS has distanced itself from the article in Panchjanya, it's chief of media and publicity, Sunil Ambekar tweeted, "Panchjanya is not the mouthpiece of the RSS and the said article or opinions expressed in it should not be linked with the RSS."
